While designing Nature's Path I ran into some issues with the Tile Deck. First, finding a sticker that would carry a solid image without smudging the ink was a challenge. I found a paper type that worked after many trials. Next, I had to store the tiles so I could bring the tiles with me on-the-go.
Originally, I decided a bag was the most convenient. The tiles get shuffled on their own in the bag, this was a plus. But unfortunately, the wood tiles could chip into the stickers.
So, the need to store the tile deck uniformly was born to prevent damage to the tile deck images.
After some draft designs and prototypes, I settled on a design that features a sliding-lid, and a snug fit (not too tight) of the game components too.
